When grown in aquariums, this aquatic plant retains its trailing behavior and produces shield-like leaf pads that add varying texture to any planted aquarium tank. Optimal conditions include soft water, CO2 injection, nutrient-dense aquarium soil and medium lighting. This aquarium plant species may be used near the mid ground and can also be considered as a unique foreground aquatic plant.
